Mummy's Birthday.

Continue...

Mother's Day

the opening picture of the day..

"ehhh can see your collar bones.."
& FOOOOODDD.

A few more, I promise.

like I said in my previous entry, I'm still breathing. The only thing that is burying me alive is the workload waiting for me at the office. I still have a growing number of photos from the Graduation event in my digicam, but I'm either too lazy or too busy with work to upload them.

my colleagues have got their pay on the 28th. I'm gonna use that as a blackmail if they bully me. As for me.. my pay is coming in soon I guess, after I submit my timesheet to the agency. :) I want a job with no OT, flexible hours and good pay. Know of any opportunity? Call me. In the meantime, wish me luck! Hehe.

Lots of love...
Mira

sunshine

Work has been snatching away most of my time these days. I'm still alive and kicking as you can see. Just lazy, majority of the time.

These past weeks hasn't been easy for me. Managing time to be spend fruitfully with the family, friends and boyfriend, midst of work. I hate it when I get to spend a lesser time than planned just cause work does not permit me to leave the office on time. Almost everyone in the office work OT everyday. It seems wrong for me to leave the office way before them. But at times, I do work extra hours (if there's no plan) as work never seems to end. I'm new (very new actually) to the IT line, and I'm still learning about the wonders of it as the day passes. And my colleagues have been nothing but a great help and also a source of entertainment too on some days. When we are bored of work and need a wee bit of distraction, we NetWrite. It works the same way as MSN Messenger, just that only for internal staff of the same level. It's like a magic word, so sacred. Don't ever underestimate it.

Make a wish, I can dream
I can be what I want to be
Not afraid to live life
And fulfill my fantasies
(Just some random words that I feel connected to).

Our mothers are a God-sent. On 8th May 08, we had a mini celebration at home as a family, for it was Mum's birthday. Surprised her with a birthday song and a 3-kilo cake (sponsored by my sis's in-law to be, haha). The present was actually much delayed as online purchase can be quite cranky at times. But as the saying goes, 'good things come to those who wait'. The gift is definitely worth waiting for I guess. I think my mum has been secretly checking the bag out everyday to let it know that she loves it. Haha.

On another note, things do go wrong for me as well, as they always will. Some day, I want to smile but all I can afford is a sigh. Life do have it's twists and turns. During time like this, take a breather, but don't give up. You won't know when you may win the race, though the pace seems slow. There is only so much I can do for the ones I love now. But if they don't play their part in it as they are ought to, it's down to a waste of effort.

OK, back to more pics.

Anyway, I had Neptune Seafood Melt sandwich over lunch at NYP with Shikin and Syah today. And I was a little shocked to see the increase in price. I, in fact, WE are actually paying $3 for a local sandwich! The effect was filling though :) I had a good nap when I reached home, it feels good to be home early on a weekday. I'm dragging tomorrow already, cause I'll be working full day. My colleagues are going to get their pay on the 28th!! I have another task to do tmr, which is to convince them to give me a treat. haha. till then, toodles.

walk away

A week of work has passed. Ever since the orientation day (read: first day of work), there has been a new guinness world record of mountainous work for me! Work keeps piling up on my desk when I haven't even get to start on the previous one. free time is definitely out of question. Last week, I just completed a tedious task. Another new guy is joining us tomorrow (Tuesday), so I suspect I will be very busy in the morning. I have to get the forms ready and most prolly I have to cover my supervisor to do the orientation as she has alot of work. She always do, sometimes I see her running around in the office and I'll hear others calling out for her, or I'll see them over at her desk. There are always commotions over at her desk which happens to be beside mine, and sometimes I just can't help but to eavesdrop. I would say that will be my only break. :P But thank God for the existence of half day.

Anyway, random pictures from the night I went to fetch Qamarul at the airport.

anticipating the boyfriend's arrival after 1 whole month of him being in a foreign country (Taiwan). thank you NS, you suck ya know?

Babyboy was surprised to see me at the airport together with his family that night/morning cause I told him that his arrival time was too late and my dad didn't allow me to leave the house. :) he called me upon touchdown like I told him to, and I told him that I was on my bed reading at home. he sounded sad alright. hehehe. Waited so long for him to get his bags and when he finally saw us (& me), he smiled from ear to ear (with teeth showing). He gave me the 'you aaahhhh ?!?#?' look and pinched my cheek. Anyway, airport is really a nice place to spend time alone to reflect and so on. But still, departure hall is forever a big no-no for me. I love you babe. So glad that you are back. It feels good to see your smile and to be in your arms again, without question and beyond doubt :) It has been 2 weeks since he came back. 2 weeks!! How time flies when you are having a good time, yes?

OK, on a different note, the world is pretty much coming to an end. first was the Myanmar cyclone and now is the China's earthquake. tell me what's next? dear God, I think we have more or less learn our lessons and we got the message that you are trying to send across. Spare us the tribulations please. Anyhow, what are you waiting for kids? Stop prioritising career and studies so much, go get married and make babies already (remember to get hitch first!). You wouldn't want to miss all these when the Earth and the ones you love are still around.

not too sure where we were heading to when the pic was taken. but one thing fo sho', the sun was glaring like nobody's business that day. I could barely open my eyes at the backseat, what more my dad who was driving. So before he could wear his Ray Ban, I said "Ayaaaahhhh pass me your red sunglasses!" heheheh. I like la. Hence the shades. Like the saying 'sediakan payung sebelum hujan', I would truly recommend you guys to sediakan sunglasses sebelum matahari starts to glare these days. the heat is terrible.

All the words that we have to say
They don't leave when the moment comes
We know we have to wait
As the days go on and the places fade away
to dirt and to dust, it all fades away...

can someone put me to sleep already

get it together

finally I got myself a job after almost 2 months of being unemployed. & I'm pretty happy with it, especially the working hours. 5 working days, 1 or 2 days will be working full day (9 - 6) and the rest of the days 4 hours each. well at least that's what my agent told me, but I heard from her client that they said abit differently on the phone the other day. it doesn't really matter, I will free myself from ambiguity on the first day, as they are still able to give me half days on certain days that I can't work full day. (:

life hasn't often felt this right for me.
this feeling of rightness,
and I suppose I'm starting to panic about losing it.

have you guys read or heard about the cyclone that has killed more than 15,000 people in Myanmar? Isn't it sad, one of Asia's worst natural disasters has wiped away entire villages, wreaking destruction on a country that is already one of the poorest on the planet.

the death toll has been rising by multiples of 10 or even 30 at a time. hundreds of thousands of people had been left homeless in Yangon region alone, and there was risk of disease spreading in the absence of proper shelter and drinking water.

and here I thought that it wasn't so bad, until I read the news about this cyclone disaster just now (alright, I know I'm slow). also, I never thought that this kind of natural disaster is deadly serious. when Qamarul told me that there's going to be typhoon at his place in Taiwan, I figured that it's normal like what my parents told me. little did I know how much damaged it could cause. but than again, cyclone lasts for days while typhoon last for only a few minutes, fyi. there is definitely at least a quantitative difference there.

anyway, I really hope Myanmar will get as much aid as soon as possible. it's totally freaky to know that so many people die at the same time. there are already traces of the end of the world, so many things are happening around the mother earth now. for example, global warming. the weather has become so crazily humid these days. it's not something new but I don't think majority of the world-ians are doing anything about it. sadly, that includes me (most of the time). and there's also the HFMD that's affecting so many innocent kids in Singapore. & many many more.

OK, sidetrack abit. he's coming back tonight!! after one damn month!
when I just got myself adjusted and loving the freedom. hahaha.

boyfriend, see you at the airport!

okay, this was what happened on 21st April 2008 (Monday)

the day when I woke up an an ungodly hour of 5AM, went to 3 different places and finally got home at around 11PM (I think)

alright, here it goes

Aizaad's SYF

I was somehow being forced and dragged to volunteer with the preparation in the early morning at his school by my tasmanian devil brother, before I could watch them on the stage at Victoria Concert Hall.

I did their make up! :)

spot me brother!

okay, don't get me wrong, I love kids.
I just thought that some of them have this 'please slap me' face.

oh yea, before I forget, a random countdown to the bf's arrival in SG.
another 4 more days!!

alright, back to the brother's SYF, I knew they are gonna get Silver. well at least to my opinion, but they were aiming for a Gold. Ended up, I was right! They were a few points behind of clinching a Gold award. Still.. I think they did a good job. :)

OK more pics.

Oh! And my brother's friends said I'm pretty!! Guess what? I don't mind volunteering again! I love these damn kids. :P

Formal shot outside VCH after the whole thing

Informal

oh yes, pretty indeed. The day was just starting and my eye-bags are already prominently visible.

Than in the afternoon, I went for a job interview. The working hours suck, like hell. So the moment I walked out of that place, I totally erased the company's name.

In the evening...

the 3 masterminds plus Rezal. The HUGE slice of cake. Blindfolded Syah, and happy tears! Yey!! Mission accomplished! :)

After which we had dinner at Pizza Hut. Rezal's treat :) It's of no wonder that the food tasted way better. Hahaha. Actually we were f. f. f. hungry (as said by Noreen). We decided to take the second shot as we figured that we looked pathetic without food.

the 6 year old couple. hope to hear wedding bells ringing soon (:

a day accomplished

*********

I love Qamarul Yaqin at the core of me, and nothing is going to change that.

& I have endless questions about what's out there.
